Reason

On 27/06/2026, a forest fire broke out near Bad Kreuznach in the Rhineland-Palatinate Land, in a wooded area formerly used for military purposes. Therefore considering that the area is contaminated with ammunition, the fire was expected to spread and quickly expand from 3,000 m² initially to 10,000 m². Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping was requested to provide wildfire extent emergency mapping and damage assessment.
